Our school

Marmor State School is situated 40 kilometres South of Rockhampton on the Bruce highway between Rockhampton and Gladstone. The school has served the community since 1906 and 2006 was identified as the Marmor State School centenary year. Students attending Marmor State School come from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds and family structures. Marmor State School is a band 5 coeducational school which has a full time teaching principal (years 3 to7), class teacher (prep to year 2) and support staff for our 27 students in our multi-grade teaching classroom.

We offer a midgets playgroup every Thursday morning for the younger children in our community. This program is facilitated by a qualified teacher aide in conjunction with the principal. At Marmor State School we also offer pre-prep in terms 3 and 4. This program, planned and taught by a teacher, runs one day a week for the full two terms and is invaluable in preparing the little ones for school life and helping them gain some of those prerequisite skills necessary for prep.

School context

The school’s mission is to offer holistic learning that considers each child’s academic, social, emotional and physical needs. Students are supported and encouraged to develop according to their readiness regardless of age or year level. The school has high expectations for each child and encourages them to be responsible, resilient, life-long, independent learners.
